Frequently asked questions
This is a common concern. In most cases we are able to carefully remove the original inspection sticker and then put it on the new windshield. The inspection stickers are not designed to be removed and re-used, and so occasionally we come a cross an inspection sticker that is not suitable for removal and re-use. In that case we can either cut out the section of windshield that the stickers are on, and you will be able to use that cut out section of windshield with the stickers on it as proof of inspection, or you can get the inspection stickers re-issued. The entire inspection should not have to be performed.

There will be no water leakage or air leakage as a result of our installation.
NJ Auto Glass is ready to help you with your calibration needs. not only can we replace your windshield, but we can also calibrate your vehicle after the windshield is replaced. Many vehicles built today have Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in an effort to improve the vehicle safety and reduce accidents. There are a few different types of systems that evaluate the position of your vehicle in the roadway and will alert the driver or in some cases move the steering wheel to ensure the vehicle stays in its lane while on the highway. These systems rely on a camera (or cameras) in the vehicle windshield that monitors the roadway, an image processor watches the painted lines on a roadway to determine whether or not the vehicle is travelling inside its lane or drifting out of the painted lines. When a new windshield is installed, the camera(s) must be calibrated to confirm that the camera(s) are installed properly. The vehicles internal computer can adjust the image it evaluates based on the camera alignment. All vehicle manufacturers recommend camera calibration when a windshield is changed, some manufacturers have a dynamic calibration procedure, some have a static procedure, and some require both as part of the calibration procedure. During a static calibration, a target board is set up in front of the vehicle with the new windshield. the size, shape and placement of the target are all determined by the manufacturer. The vehicle then calibrates the camera based on the placement of the target. A dynamic calibration is a little different. the vehicle is driven during the calibration and the computer makes adjustments based on the data it receives as it is being driven.
This answer varies depending on the vehicle you are driving, the urethane used, and the current weather conditions. Most vehicles built today use urethane to glue the windshield in place, and it is important to make sure the the windshield is secure before driving the vehicle. in most cases we recommend that you allow the vehicle to sit for about 3 hours prior to driving it after the windshield is changed. In some cases, we use a faster curing urethane, and it is acceptable to drive away after 30minutes of cure time. if your vehicle is built using a gasket to install the windshield rather than urethane, then there is no need to wait for any urethane to cure prior to driving and so it van be driven right away. Since each job can vary, its best to rely on what the we tell you for your specific vehicle.
